X user Mohit Jain expressed his frustration after a disappointing experience with Blinkit, saying, “It was the first and last time I’ve ordered something so expensive from Blinkit as their customer support is pathetic. I have to chat with AI bots.” Jain bought a 10 gm silver coin and a one gram gold coin, but ended up receiving a 0.5 gm gold coin instead.

Realising the mix-up after the delivery, he discovered that the return window had already closed, leaving him without options for resolving the issue through customer service. To support his case, Jain provided a picture of the 0.5 gm gold coin and screenshots of his original order.

In the post, he shared his frustration, saying, “Got scammed by Blinkit. I ordered a one gram gold coin from Blinkit, along with a one gram silver coin. It was all prepaid.” He explained that he had given his younger brother the OTP to receive the package while he was away. “After 20 minutes I reached home and saw the wrong item was delivered. I got a 0.5 g Malabar gold coin (rose design). What I ordered was 1 gm Mata Lakshmi gold coin.”

Jain also said that he attempted to reach the delivery person, and cried over the call, but it was of no help. He mentioned that he had CCTV footage confirming that the wrong item was delivered.

The tweet has sparked a wave of backlash on social media, with many users expressing their anger and disappointment regarding the purported “scam” and the platform’s response to the situation.

An individual shared, “We were also scammed by blinkit. We ordered dry fruits for Diwali gift purpose. All the boxes we received were rotten and infested. When we tried to ask for refund they closed the return window and not responding to emails. We have decided not to use blinkit anymore so should oth.”

Another user wrote, “They r good to buy only small value items. Expensive things shud be bought only thru physical mode. All these e-commerce, quick commerce companies are burning cash and are not at all reliable.”

Some users criticised people ordering gold and silver from e-commerce sites. A third user commented, “I don’t understand why you are ordering gold online that too from blinkit, zomato, etc. It’s GOLD dammit. You’re ready to spend so much to buy it, why are you risking it. Just visit the physical store and buy it.”

Jain posted an update on the entire ordeal and wrote that the issue was resolved eventually. “I expressed my concerns about an issue I was facing, and I’m pleased to announce that it has been fully resolved. Not only that, but I also received my refund too,” he wrote in his recent X post.
