A shocking incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain, where a man had his nine-year-old son travel on the running board of a moving SUV at midnight. The incident took place near Chamunda Mata Square, leading to immediate police intervention.

According to Dainik Bhaskar, a patrolling constable spotted the child standing on the running board of a moving SUV. A viral video clip shows the boy wearing an all-red ensemble and smiling as he hangs outside the door on the driver’s side. On being confronted by the constable, the man stops the vehicle, allowing the boy to quickly jump onto the road. “Kya tareeka hai bhai (What is this behaviour?),” the police constable says.

The driver was identified as Deepak Pamnani. On being confronted, he apologised by holding his ears.

The video quickly gained traction, drawing strong criticism against the man. Numerous X users demanded that authorities cancel his licence. “This foolish father is using his own child for stunts, disregarding safety. A fine is necessary, along with a lesson for this foolishness,” a user wrote. “If this had happened in western country, child’s custody would have been taken away and parents in prison,” another user commented.

“The more I see such Indian parents, the more it seems eugenics was not that bad of an idea, sadly,” a third user reacted. “Cancel his licence,” a third user reacted.

The Dainik Bhaskar report also stated that when asked why he was driving so recklessly, Pamnani said, “I was doing stunts for fun.”

Although no action was taken on the spot due to the late hour, instructions were later issued to the Madhav Nagar police to initiate legal proceedings against Pamnani on Wednesday, the report added.
