A man from Maharashtra, fed up after his repeated complaints went nowhere, staged an unusual and very public protest against a local Mahindra dealership, and it has now taken social media by storm.

In a viral video posted by Indian Gems on X, the disgruntled customer can be seen attaching two donkeys to his Mahindra Thar Roxx and having them pull the SUV all the way to the dealership’s service centre. The odd sight drew crowds on the road and even bigger reactions online.

As he walked alongside the slowly moving vehicle with a few supporters, the Thar was plastered in posters slamming the dealership. The angry message, written in bold Marathi, read: “… These people are cheating customers by giving faulty cars.”

According to posts circulating with the clip, the man claimed that the dealership repeatedly brushed off his complaints about defects in the new vehicle he had purchased. After several failed attempts to get the issues fixed, he decided to make a statement that would be impossible for the dealership to ignore.

The Internet, unsurprisingly, had a lot to say. One user commented, “We have ability to make Bahubali Racket, new innovated cars, what about service? pathetic condition… you can see videos of every car owners experience of service in YouTube.”

Another person wondered, “Am I the only one who gets frustrated by how slowly things move in India for the ordinary citizen?” Someone else added, “Glad to see someone highlight the service issues of brands other than Ola Electric.”

However, not everyone saw humour in the protest; many were upset that donkeys were made to pull a car, calling the act outright animal cruelty.
