Watch: A sea of KKR fans celebrate on Kolkata streets as Shah Rukh Khan’s team defeats SRH in IPL 2024

KKR won their third IPL winner title as they beat the SRH by 8 wickets in the final match on Sunday. Kolkata came out to celebrate the win amid a cyclone warning.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by Shreyas Iyer lifted the Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2024 trophy in a high-voltage clash with Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai cheered for KKR as SRK and his team won. Several videos of fans celebrating in West Bengal’s Kolkata dominated social media on late Sunday.

In a viral video, a sea of fans flocked to the streets in Kolkata, danced around to ‘Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re’, and waved KKR flags. The video also captured buses and autorickshaws stuck in the celebration.

Sharing the video on X, a user Mufaddal Vohara wrote, “Celebrations in Kolkata for the IPL win even when there was a cyclone alert.”

The video amassed over 83,000 views on X as IPL enthusiasts reacted to it. “Many best wishes to Kolkata for victory once again,” a user commented. “The biggest contribution to Kolkata’s victory is from those working behind the scenes like Abhishek Nair, Bharat Arun,” another user wrote.

In another video, ace Jamaican cricketer Chris Gayle congratulated Shah Rukh Khan’s team. “Hey, Kolkata Knight Riders! Congratulations. IPL Champions,” Gayle says in the video.

Shah Rukh Khan celebrated the grand victory with Harshit Rana’s trademark “flying kiss”. In a video posted by Jio Cinema, SRK can be heard saying, “The whole team has to stand with me and i will say 3 to 1 and everyone will have to do this.” Following this Rana hugged and lifted the team owner saying “Mereko toh kal raat bhi 102 bukhaar tha sir (I had fever last night as well).”
