The extravagant purchase of Lamborghini's number plate was finalised through an online auction held by the Kerala Motor Vehicles DepartmentIn a record-breaking moment from Kochi, Kerala, Venu Gopalakrishnan, the CEO and founder of Litmus 7 Systems Consulting Pvt. Ltd., made headlines after shelling out nearly Rs 46 lakh to secure an exclusive vehicle registration number for his new Lamborghini. The extravagant purchase—registration number KL 07 DG 0007—was finalised through an online auction held by the Kerala Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) on April 7, as reported by The Hindu.
The bid, which started at just Rs 25,000, quickly escalated into fierce competition among five participants. It eventually boiled down to a neck-and-neck race between the top two bidders, with Gopalakrishnan clinching the number at a staggering Rs 45.99 lakh, overtaking the previous record of Rs 44.84 lakh for a fancy number in the state.
He chose this prized number for his brand-new lime green Lamborghini Urus Performante, a high-performance SUV worth around Rs 4 crore.
Sharing the moment on Instagram, the CEO posted a video showing off his striking new ride. “The wait is over! Meet the newest addition to our family – Lamborghini Urus Performante, Kerala’s first, and it’s making headlines for its record-breaking number, ‘KL 07 DG 0007’, the most expensive fancy vehicle number in Kerala,” he wrote.
