Mehta shared the picture on February 17, which has garnered mixed reactions from social media users. While the picture surprised some users, a section of them slammed the brand, calling out the owner over their service.
A user commented, “Heard they don’t accept 10rs coins in Rajasthan so shopkeepers helped him buying the bike.” Another user complained about the Ather e-scooter he bought and wrote, “There is no service centre Central Mumbai ..we have to travel all the way to vashi or vikroli…so sad after buying 164000 ather …”
“Disappointed here with the maintenance of Grid in my area. Grid at Ather Showroom Gorakhpur, 273008 is under maintenance from more than 10 days by now. And no any solid update upon it being maintained. Very disappointed with the experience,” yet another user complained.
A Russian blogger had done something similar in 2018 when he bought an iPhone XS with a bathtub full of coins. The viral Facebook post showed Apple store staff counting the coins brought by blogger Svyatoslav Kovalenko.
