Jaswanth Varma, a pilot with IndiGo Airlines, was surprised to spot Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav on his flight earlier this week. Varma made a video about the encounter and it has gone viral now with over two million views.
Here is what happened. While greeting passengers aboard, Varma was thrilled to see Yadav and decided to make the encounter even more memorable. He wrote a heart-felt note to the cricketer, expressing his admiration and making a special request.
“I noticed Suryakumar Yadav onboard – the hero who led us to the T20 World Cup. I wrote a special thanks note to SKY with a request,” the overlay text in the video said.
The note, written on a tissue paper, read, “Beloved SKY! Warm welcome on our flight 6E5295 to Bombay. It’s our honour to have you onboard with us today. A small request for a group photo with captains and crew post landing. Thank you! Regards, Pilot Jaswanth!”
The cabin crew then delivered the note to Yadav, along with some refreshments, and he graciously agreed to the request. After the flight landed, Yadav took time to pose for pictures with the pilot and crew.

The overlay text in the video also said, “The one who made 1.4 billion Indians celebrate,” referring to Yadav’s stunning catch of David Miller during the T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa on June 29 in Barbados, one that truly turned the game on its head.
The post went viral, with fans flooding the comments section.
One fan commented, “Sky has always been nice with fans.. Never any attitude.” Another user wrote, “T20 Captain with A320 Captain.”
A third user commented, “You achieved every Indians dreams.” A fourth fan wrote, “Did He travelled in economy class.”
