The Netherlands cricket team is set to play against South Africa in the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 at Himachal’s picturesque stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday. The Netherlands team hopes to spring a surprise against their much-fancied opponents, similar to the one they pulled off during last year’s T20 World Cup in Australia. Former cricketer Dirk Nannes, who has represented both Australia and the Netherlands internationally, spoke to Dutch cricketer Logan van Beek regarding their team’s preparations for the game. Wearing a traditional Himachali cap, Nannes danced the traditional Nati dance with van Beek. Van Beek was seen dancing with the local folk dancers of Himachal and seems to have picked the steps perfectly. “Being a professional cricketer, travelling to beautiful places like these, to get involved with the culture, to get a chance to dance, it is nice to get a bit of rest and recovery. Yeah, definitely looking forward to getting back to cricket,” van Beek said. Van Beek said their victory last year at the T20 World Cup has given them the confidence that they can do it again. A few days ago, the Netherlands cricket team was welcomed with Nati, a traditional dance performance native to Himachal Pradesh, as the team touched down at Dharamsala. A few players of the team also joined the folk dancers as they performed Nati, as seen in a video shared by the official account of Cricket Netherlands (@KNCBcricket) on X, formerly Twitter.
