Influencer Revant Himatsingka, widely known as Food Pharmer, has gained attention for his deep dives into the contents of popular packaged foods. He first made headlines in 2023 when his viral review on the high sugar content in Cadbury’s Bournvita spurred the company to reduce sugar levels in their product. Recently, he described a new milestone in his journey as Food Pharmer, sharing that Rajya Sabha MP and author Sudha Murty personally reached out to him for insights on food adulteration research.
In a video, Revant is seen saying, “My biggest honour in my journey as Food Pharmer is when Sudha Murty ma’am contacted me to provide research on food adulteration for Rajya Sabha.”
The video then shows Murty, speaking in Parliament’s monsoon session, where she addresses the pressing issue of food additives and their health impacts. She highlighted three harmful ingredients used frequently in the hospitality industry: synthetic colour, synthetic vinegar, and flavour enhancers, saying, “Because they look nice, it is tasty, but people are not aware that it will become a problem in the future.”

She is by far the most humble person I’ve met and I’ve come across influencers with 1 lakh followers with more attitude than her.… pic.twitter.com/VfezptSiaU

Revant, who considers Murty “by far the most humble person” he has ever met, also shared his admiration for her direct approach, saying that she reaches out via WhatsApp “almost like a friend” rather than relying on intermediaries, unlike other public figures. Excited to assist her further, Revant noted that he will be contributing research for the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. “Imagine if the world’s most powerful people got together and fought for what is right!” he added.
The video has gone viral with over 80,000 views and many commented on the post to congratulate Revant.
One person commented, “Kudos to both of you. You both are truly striving to make a difference for wider good.” Another individual added, “We need this more and more in our parliament. Not regular tu tu main main between political parties.”
A third person commented, “This is fantastic! Some research on the right kind of health issues prevalent now. Specially these ingredients are used the most.”
