Passengers praised the crew for remaining composed under pressureChaos erupted on an Akasa Air flight from Bengaluru to Delhi on October 20 when a visibly drunk passenger refused to take his seat, causing significant delays. The incident occurred on flight QP 1599 shortly after boarding, quickly escalating as the passenger clashed with both fellow travellers and cabin crew.
The airline crew asked him to disembark at Bengaluru airport, but he refused and argued with security personnel. Ultimately, staff had to physically remove him from the plane. Akasa Air confirmed the incident, emphasising that such measures are necessary to ensure passenger safety. Passengers praised the crew for remaining composed under pressure. One onlooker described the scene: “Some were filming, some were laughing, and others were simply confused, as everyone just wanted to leave.”
Sharing his experience on Instagram, a fellow passenger wrote, “You know those days when everything goes perfectly fine, until one person decides to ruin the peace? Boarded my Akasa flight from Bengaluru to Delhi, on time, calm vibes, everyone seated. Cabin lights dimmed, seatbelts on, engines ready. And then chaos walked in.” He added that the crew “handled it like absolute professionals (salute to them), but the drama didn’t stop there.”
He continued, “Minutes turned into hours. The flight that was supposed to take off on time became a live reality show at 35,000 feet, except we hadn’t even taken off yet. The energy in the cabin shifted from chill to irritated to ‘Please let us go home already.’ The funniest part? One single person caused delays for hundreds. Sometimes it’s not turbulence in the sky that delays you, it’s the turbulence people bring on board. Travel respectfully. You’re not the only one on that plane.”

An eyewitness told The Times of India, “He was so inebriated that he refused to alight and security had to be called to the aircraft. He had to be physically taken out of the aircraft and got into a spat with CISF personnel too. Proceedings have been initiated under him to be placed on the no-fly list.”
Akasa Air’s spokesperson said, “An incident of unruly behaviour involving a passenger took place on Akasa Air flight QP 1599 operating from Bengaluru to Delhi on October 20, 2025. Our crew followed the required safety protocols in line with our policies to ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers. We stand firm on our zero-tolerance policies against unruly passenger behaviour.”
