After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent move of demonetisation, a state of chaos and confusion has descended on people across the country. Everybody has been making a beeline to the nearest banks and ATMs to withdraw cash – be it the new Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 currency notes or the old Rs 100 ones. If you see a large crowd on the roadside, then there is a good chance that there is an ATM nearby.
But how long do you think will people wait? These queues in front of the banks are never-ending, starting from daybreak and going on till late into the night, or until the ATM breaks down. As a solution to this problem, certain banks in the country seem to have come up with a clever solution. Apparently, photos on social media show that instead of just standing in the line for long hours, people in Raipur and Kerala are booking their places using their footwear, or their passbooks! And people are loving it!

As bizarre as it sounds , it also seems like a great idea. You can book your place, then go sit somewhere, read a book or play some cards if you are old-school!
Apparently, this is an age-old custom practised in Japan, where people do this to avoid chaos, in their everyday lives as well.
