Daniel Craig among tops Google Trends after Queer promo release
The spike in interest came after the release of the first promo for Queer, a historical gay romance-drama, on September 3.

Hollywood star Daniel Craig became one of the top trending topics on Google Search in India on Thursday, witnessing a 600% surge with over 10,000 searches in the last 24 hours.
The spike in interest came after the release of the first promo for Queer, a historical gay romance-drama, on September 3.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes, Queer is adapted from the 1985 novel by William S. Burroughs. Set in 1940s Mexico City, the story revolves around an American expat who becomes captivated by a younger man.

In a recent interview, Craig discussed the film’s intimate scenes, saying, “There’s nothing intimate about filming a sex scene on a movie set. We aimed to make it as touching, real, and natural as possible. Drew is a fantastic actor, and we had a good time, trying to keep it fun.”
According to a Reuters report, Craig’s character William Lee lives a solitary life in Mexico City, cruising the bars and knocking back hard liquor, before he becomes infatuated with a quiet bisexual, played by Drew Starkey, who joins the seedy U.S. expat community.
Craig said he and Starkey did movement and dance classes together to gain greater intimacy.
“It broke the ice with the two of us,” Craig said. “We worked very hard together and so we just sort of threw ourselves into it, into kind of, you know, into the whole thing.”
The film is based on an unfinished novel by the U.S. author William S. Burroughs, with Guadagnino and his screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes giving the story a conclusion, leading the two characters into the jungle in search of a hallucinogenic drug.
