A recent incident at L’Opéra’s Khan Market outlet in Delhi has sparked concerns about hygiene in food establishments. On October 4, a customer ordered an iced latte and a salted caramel coffee to-go, but their experience took a disturbing turn. They discovered a cockroach floating in the iced latte after getting into their car to enjoy the drinks.
A Reddit user known as “WaltzSimple6037” made an alarming discovery. At first, they thought the object floating in their drink was a coffee bean. But on closer inspection, they realised it was actually a dead cockroach. Horrified, the customer immediately returned to the café to show the staff what they had found.
Take a look at the post:
Redditor raised concerns about a troubling experience at a cafe, asking, “Anyone else had similar issues here or at other cafes?” The post sparked a lively discussion, with many users chiming in. One commenter said, “This is absolutely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that’s reputed.” Another added, “That’s what happen when anybody gets licences , no surprise inspection or any sort of inspection, food industry is joke in India!!”
Some took a more humorous approach to the situation. One person joked, “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature,” while another cleverly quipped, “Cockroast coffee.” A third chimed in with, “That’s the secret ingredient!”
