Pets can be more than just companions. Sometimes, they form bonds so deep and intuitive, they remind us of the emotional intelligence animals so often display. A new video doing the rounds online is a perfect example.
Posted by Project Meher – MAW Foundation, a shelter for blind animals, on Instagram, the now-viral clip introduces us to Obi, a blind and diabetic cat, and her best friend Khwab, a gentle dog who has taken it upon himself to be her guide.
In the video, the two are seen playing together in what looks like a game of tag. Khwab leads Obi around a staircase, occasionally barking softly or giving her a nudge to help her find her way. Despite her blindness, Obi runs with full confidence, completely trusting Khwab’s cues.
“Khwab barks and nudges him with so much love, calling him to play,” the shelter wrote. Users found their interaction to be an exchange of trust, care and deep friendship.
“My heart just melts watching how she includes him. Some friendships don’t need sight or words… just heart,” the shelter shared in the caption.

The video struck a chord with viewers, and the comments are a reflection of the overwhelming love. One person wrote, “I bet you they are going to be besting so hard when they grow up, they ain’t gonna leave each other’s side.” Another said, “He is returning back to her as he knows she can’t see — that’s so kind… even humans don’t have such humanity.”
“Adorable. He didn’t make her feel less. Instead, whenever she stopped, he came near to her, giving the sound ‘I’m here, catch me,” said a third Instagram user.
