In a bizarre bid for online fame, a man at Bihar’s Anugraha Narayan Road railway station was caught on camera slapping a random train passenger. As the train passed by, the man reached out from the platform and struck a seated commuter while his friend recorded the act. The clip quickly went viral, sparking outrage.
Authorities swiftly intervened, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) confirmed via their official X account that the culprit, Ritesh Kumar, was apprehended. Kumar was directed to release an apology video.
In the apology video, he admitted that his only motive was social media clout. “I am a YouTuber. I make and post videos on Instagram to increase my followers. I came to Anugraha Narayan Road railway station and, to boost my follower count, slapped a passenger on a moving train. This was my mistake, and I won’t repeat it. Please forgive me,” he said.
The viral video begins with Kumar’s friend approaching the moving train, casually slapping an unsuspecting passenger, and walking away as if nothing happened. While their stunt may have drawn attention, it also landed them in trouble—yet another example of how far some will go for fleeting internet fame.
A well-deserved lesson for a cringe YouTuber who was slapping people on a moving train just to gain attention. Great job, @RPF_INDIA! 👏 pic.twitter.com/46I9mUsnR8

Responding to the videl, a user wrote, “Finally, some real consequences for reckless behavior! Attention seeking shouldn’t come at the expense of others safety.”
Another user commented, “Block the YouTube channel as well.” A third person said, “If these cases are not handled properly and the culprit does not receive punishment for his actions, it will create a domino effect in society. We all aspire for a Viksit Bharat, but where are we leading our youth, who are the pillars of development in our society?”
A fourth X user wrote, “Script di hui hai kya aisa lag raha hai (It feels like he is reading a script).”
Another X user said, “Many are saying it’s not the same guy, He was behind the camera shooting the video while his friend was slapping passengers, both of them are caught.”
