A story from Bangalore is grabbing attention online, showing that sometimes stepping away from a conventional path can lead to a better life. Entrepreneur Varun Agarwal shared the story on LinkedIn, highlighting the journey of Deepesh, an Uber driver who made a bold choice for his family.
Agarwal explained that Deepesh used to do a regular office job and used to earn around Rs 40,000 per month. While the job “was doing the necessary,” it left him with almost no time for his wife and kids. Agarwal wrote, “So, this is Deepesh. He drove my Uber today.”
Putting family and peace of mind first, Deepesh decided to quit his corporate job and focus on driving full-time. What some saw as a risky move turned out to be life-changing. Today, he earns nearly Rs 56,000 a month, working just 21 days, which has given him the work-life balance he longed for.
Agarwal also noted that Deepesh has been able to save enough to buy another car, hire a driver, and start building his own fleet.
The LinkedIn post quickly resonated with many, with users applauding Deepesh’s courage to prioritise family over a corporate career. ”I love reading stories of people who take the steering wheel for their career & leave the conventional paths,” wrote one user.
“Often, it’s the moment of realization that changes everything. The earlier it comes, the easier it is to find peace and build happier bonds with those we love. In the end, following your inner calling makes all the difference,” wrote another user.
A third person commented, “Success isn’t just about earning more, it’s about living better. Deepesh truly took the driver’s seat in life.”
