Bengaluru’s RT Nagar has a new local celebrity, the “dog lover aunty”, after a video of the middle-aged woman strolling with her 28 golden retrievers went viral. In the clip, titled “28 dogs, 1 big heart. Meet the dog lover aunty of RT Nagar, Bangalore!”, the woman was seen calmly walking through the neighbourhood as the well-groomed dogs pad along beside her, tails wagging in sync.

The video’s narrator marvels, “We saw a lady in RT Nagar, Bengaluru, walking with 28 golden retrievers, all matching, all happy. She looked so peaceful, smiling with her furry family. In today’s life, loyal friends are rare, but sometimes love and loyalty come on four legs.”

Since it was posted, the footage has crossed a million views and sparked a flood of comments, some admiring, others sharing their personal memories of her and her animals. One resident of Bengaluru posted that the woman has customized her Innova car for the dogs. Another recalled, “Got 4 of THE most beautiful souls from her 8.5 years ago. They have brought joy and love to 100s of children and to me personally. Glad to see the girls family doing well.” A third person joked, “Some people flex cars… aunty flexes retrievers.”

Others chimed in about how disciplined and gentle the pack is. “I have seen this lady with her fury baby, and the babies are also so well trained and extremely adorable,” one comment read.

The viral moment has arrived just weeks after the Supreme Court revised its order on street dogs, ruling that sterilised animals may be released back unless they show aggressive behaviour or rabies, a reminder of the wider debate on how India treats its canines.
