Akon ‘harassed’ on stage in Bengaluru, viral video shows fans pulling singer’s pants during concert: ‘India has no respect for any artist’

Senegalese-American singer Akon has been in India for his 2025 tour, and is gearing up to wrap up his final show in Mumbai on November 16. The tour began in Delhi on November 9 and then moved to Bengaluru on November 14. But after Friday’s Bengaluru concert, a clip from the event sparked a huge conversation online, and not for the right reasons.

In a video shared by Instagram user Zumair Khaja, Akon is seen performing his hit “Sexy Bitch” for fans in the VIP section. As he moves along the front row, several concertgoers appear to tug at his pants, forcing him to repeatedly pull them back up. Despite the uncomfortable moment, Akon kept his cool and continued the performance. Khaja posted the clip with the caption, “Akon will remember this for a while.”

The video quickly travelled across social platforms, with many users criticising the behaviour and calling it disrespectful and outright harassing. Comments poured in expressing disappointment over how the singer was treated.

One user wrote, “In India everybody is pulling each other’s pants down.” Another said, “This is sad, they were harassing him live on stage… he is an international artist trying to perform for them and they are just harassing him.”

Others echoed similar concerns. “So many people laughing and actually saying this is ‘love’ for the artist. No wonder why the world looks at india like that. Shame,” a third user commented.

One user wrote, “Not funny at all. This is how people treat guest? So called fans? Really?”

Another Instagram user said, “PR team knows India is weird. Should have kept him away from the crowd… India has no respect for any artist. Could have been worst.”
