Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger took a shovel and set out to fix a pothole in Los Angeles. Yes, you read that right! The Terminator actor played the role of a road maintenance worker, lent his hand for the community and the video has gone viral on social media.

The clip shared from his official Twitter account on Tuesday shows him clad in jacket, boots, sunglasses filling up the pothole. He is seen unloading a bag of tar and along with others spreading it with a shovel. As they continue their labour, a car driver halts in awe and thanks him.

He responds saying, “You have to do it yourself. I mean, this is crazy. For three weeks, I have been waiting for this hole to be closed.” As they finish filling up tar, he is seen adding handfuls of sand on top of it.

“Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it. I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go,” the 75-year-old actor tweeted.

Since being shared on Wednesday, the clip has amassed more than 4.1 million views on Twitter. Appreciations poured in the comment section.

“Absolutely correct! Action is always better than reaction! Would have loved to had more like you in my town when I was the Mayor. Good work sir. #BeTheDifference. A user tweaked the dialogue in Terminator 2 and wrote, “‘Come with me if you want to pave.'” Another user wrote, “‘If it needs…fixing….we can fill it’.”

While Los Angeles received 19,692 service requests for repairs between December 30 and April 6 as per USA Today report, the one Schwarzenegger fixed was not apparently a pothole.

Elena Stern, a senior public information director for the Department of Public Works in Los Angeles, was quoted as saying by NBC News that it was not a pothole, but a “service trench that relates to active, permitted work being performed at the location by SoCal Gas, who expects the work to be completed by the end of May.”
