Aamir Khan’s Fat-to-Fit pictures for Dangal inspire Twitter caption contest

With Dangal all set to release in less than a month, Aamir Khan and the movie’s team have gone full steam ahead with the film’s promotional events. Now, one of the most interesting aspects of the movie is the drastic physical change that Khan under went to portray the two time lines for wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Earlier this year, indianexpress.com had caught up with Khan during a location shoot, during which he spoke at length about his fitness regime that took him from a hefty 97kg to sporting an enviable six-pack.

Not called Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist for nothing, Khan insisted on first gaining weight to play an elderly wrestler and then lost almost 30kg to play the same character at a younger age in a record couple of months. He did this by following the calorie count method of dieting along with a strenuous exercise regimen.

To show this fat-to-fit journey, the film’s producers released a fitness video that documented the entire process, along with short interviews with the many people who were involved. From Khan himself speaking about the diet and exercise routine to his fitness trainer Rahul Bhatt and Rakesh Udiyar, bodybuilder and fitness trainer, who worked with the actor all through the past couple of months, helping him achieve the incredible feat.

Promoting the video is a before-after picture of the actor, which has gone viral on social media sites. Well, where Netizens and virality are concerned, memes can hardly be far behind. True to their nature, tweeple soon started taking a dig (well-humoured we’re sure) at the #fitotfab journey with their own hilarious captions.
