A metro ride has turned chaotic for passengers after several crabs were accidentally let loose among them. A viral video shows how chaos erupted after a woman’s plastic bag broke and the sea creatures tumbled out. The video first appeared on an Instagram handle that posts oddities from the New York subway.

As the crabs tumbled out of a bag in the middle of a crowded metro compartment, a shocked woman jumped up from her seat and rushed to the door, while a man nearby tried to help her but was quickly taken aback as even more crabs fell out of the bag.

Several passengers stepped in to help, offering a spare bag to keep the crabs. The woman struggled to safely transfer the crabs into the broken bag, but more crabs kept falling out. Two people can be seen carefully picking up the crabs and placing them into the new bag.

The video has amassed over 22 million views and prompted numerous reactions. A user wrote, “Asian uncle was holding that totally unbothered. no facial expressions and no emotions.” Another user commented, “I’m sure whoever that Asian man holding the crabs without a care is a certified seafood boil expert.”

“This is the opposite of the crabs in a bucket mentality! This is teamwork of putting the crabs in the bucket together,” a third user reacted.

In June 2023, a monkey entered the coach of a Delhi Metro train, causing panic among passengers. While the authorities were unable to confirm the incident, they sought more details from the person who shared its video.
