Viral video: Sea lion takes a dip in hotel swimming pool in Ecuador

The animal is identified to be a Galápagos sea lion and are capable of diving to depths of almost 600 yards and can stay underwater for 10 minutes.

A video of a sea lion swimming in a hotel pool is making rounds on the internet. The animal, according to the Daily Mail, wandered off from the harbour of the Galápagos Islands and interrupted a safari expedition group when they were finishing their meal at a seaside hotel in Puerto Ayora in Ecuador. The sea mammal, oblivious to the group, decided to take a dip at the hotel swimming pool.

In the video, the creature can be seen struggling to climb over the fence to get to the pool. After managing to get past the fence, the sealion waddles to the pool before diving in.
