A Japanese man who bought a realistic-looking dog costume worth approximately $22,000 (Rs 18 lakh), shared a video of his first public walk.

While sharing this clip on his YouTube channel, the man who goes by the name Toco, wrote, “This video was shot last year when I was interviewed by RTL, a German TV station. Thankfully, I received permission to use the videos, so I am releasing them to the public!”

This clip has been viewed over two million times since it was posted.

Commenting on the video, a YouTube user wrote, “The costume is really well done, I see why it was so expensive. I’d love to know more about how it was made and how a person fits inside.” Another person wrote, “Glad this person is apparently living their dream… but to me personally, that situation is the stuff of nightmares.”

In several media interviews, Toco has expressed his unique wish of being a dog since he was a child. He eventually commissioned the Japanese company Zeppet, which makes costumes for TV commercials and films, to make a rough collie costume. He has said he chose to be a rough collie because of its big size, which will make the costume fit him better and look realistic.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Toco said, “I don’t want my hobbies to be known, especially by the people I work with. They think it’s weird that I want to be a dog. For the same reason why I can’t show my real face”.

Toco’s YouTube channel, I want to be an animal, has over 34,000 subscribers. The channel’s description says, “I wanted to be an animal, so I became a rough collie!
