Stray cat lands security guard job in a Philippines mall; here’s how

The video has already been viewed 127,349 times and has numerous comments. “When Conan is not around, I’m not motivated to do my work….he takes away my stress,” a security guard is quoted as saying in the video.

Rescued by a housekeeper who found him crying in the parking lot as a tiny kitten, Conan has become a beloved fixture at the mall. He follows in the paw prints of Mingming, the original viral cat of Worldwide Corporate Center, who passed away last June.

Now known as “SG Conan” (Security Guard Conan), he works full-time and has inspired other malls in the Philippines to give stray cats similar roles, like the Security Cats of Alabang Town Center.

Photos of Conan in his security vest keep going viral on social media, bringing joy to many.

Reacting to this video, one user commented, “100% would be more motivated to do my job if my colleagues were cats.” A second user expressed, “When Conan is not around I’m not motivated is the most relateable thing ever said.” Meanwhile, a third user wrote, “FYI: Conan was actually the second cat hired by them after the first officer, Ming Ming, crossed the rainbow bridge.”
