In the face of a powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake that struck the Noto Peninsula and surrounding regions in central Japan on New Year’s Day, Tokyo Disneyland too experienced noticeable tremors.
Amid the unsettling moment, a video captured at the theme park portrayed how the Disneyland actors in costume exhibited both bravery and care for visitors by squatting on the ground, guiding the tourists, and joining them in seeking shelter from potential danger.
The earthquake, which claimed 92 lives as of Friday with almost 242 people still missing, prompted an immediate response from the Disneyland staff and characters.

As the ground shook, the characters in costume at the park – Daisy, Eeyore, Goofy, Donald and even Minnie Mouse – not only took safety measures themselves but also made efforts to reassure and comfort the visitors present.
Users on Instagram showered heavy praise in the comments section. One of them said, “Japan really got it down. The rest of the world needs to follow.” Acknowledging the emotional moment, another posted, “This made me cry. It’s such a scary situation and they were so kind to try to keep everyone calm.”
