Justin Trudeau, Canada’s newly elected liberal Prime Minister who swept the federal elections with over 54 per cent votes, seems to bring a breath of fresh air to Canada which has been ruled by Conservatives for 10 years now.
The 43-year-old Trudeau is liberal in his demeanour also. He is all up for abortion rights to women and would even work to legalise ‘marijuana’ on the Colorado model which means one is allowed to buy 1 ounce of marijuana if you are above 21 years of age.
Here are five things you should know about this uber-cool PM
He is model-handsome and has fought in the boxing ring
Shirtless and muscled images of the Prime Minister have been dominating social media since the day he has been elected. The image is from a charity boxing match that took place in 2012. In fact, he went boxing just before the French-language debate for the federal election, reports Huffington Post Canada.
He sports a tattoo
While posing for the cameras after the boxing match, a large tattoo of the earth surrounded by a raven could be seen on his left shoulder. According to Global News, he got inked at the age of 23 and surrounded the earth with a raven drawn into the style of the Pacific Northwestern Haida peoples, three year ago.
Has starred in a movie
Having a Prime Minister acting in a movie makes him so much more relatable. Justin Trudeau starred in the film ‘The Great War’ which was released in 2007 and documents the participation of Canada in World War 1. Apart from that, he has also been documented in a French film ‘God Save Justin Trudeau: The Art of Politics in the 21st Century’.

He has stripteased
He gave a partial striptease during a charity event in 2011 and raised C$ 1900. At the ‘What a Girl Wants’ gala for liver disease, Trudeau shed his clothes, though very decently, and stopped at his white tank top reported Huffington Post Canada. The night was described as a night of “beauty, mystery and indulgence.”
He is a pro when it comes to Bhangra
A video from 2012 has been doing the rounds on social media where the PM is seen dancing to the tune of Punjabi songs and it doesn’t look like he is an amateur. Then Canada’s youngest MP, Trudeau was pulled on stage by a performer during India’s 66th Independence day celebrations and he danced like there was no tomorrow.
While some of this was criticised as going against the stereotyped image of a politician, the man is upfront about what he does and does not regret any of it. He calls himself a feminist and before becoming a lawyer in 2008, he has delved into many professions including teaching, engineering, bungee-jump coaching and environmental geography.
