A video of an impeccably preserved passport used between 1928 and 1938 by an Indian to travel mainly to Iraq and Iran has gone viral on social media.
The passport belongs to a man named Syed Mohamed Khalil Rahman Shah who worked as a government clerk in British India.
His journey took him through Iraq to the heart of Iran and back to British India, shows the pages of the passport.
After the video clipping, posted by the Instagram account Vintage Passport Collector, went viral, a user wrote “Quality of the paper looks excellent,” while a second commented, “Interesting! Iran and Iraq seem to have been very popular destinations back then”.
The discovery of his passport adds a dash of excitement to the annals of travel history. As the video circulated on Instagram, users shared their reactions to the fullest.
