Jimmy Donaldson, popular as MrBeast on the Internet, is among the most-watched YouTubers in the world. From exploring the Great Pyramids of Giza to unveiling a $14 million “city” for the “Beast Games” show, the YouTuber often goes above and beyond to keep his fans on edge. On Wednesday, MrBeast ignited a backlash after he shared that he had burned at least 20,000,000 trees. However, his fans refused to believe it.

The post quickly gained traction, attracting an array of comments from his fans and X users. “The irony is that you’d probably get less hate for this than if you planted 20,000,000 trees,” a user wrote. “Doing humanity a great service by putting that carbon back in the air where it belongs!” another user commented.

“Clickbait post. I am sure there is a twist on April prank,” a third user said.

Last month, MrBeast made waves after he opened up about the hustle that comes with building an $85 million entertainment empire. Speaking on The Diary of a CEO, a podcast hosted by Steven Bartlett, MrBeast said, “The average person does not want to live the life I live, or be in my head,” adding, “They would be miserable because they’re just working all the time.”

To cope with the pressure, Donaldson said he had to change his mindset in daily life to avoid sinking into depression.

Jimmy Donaldson, born in Wichita, Kansas, rose to fame with his high-energy videos that featured challenges and giveaways. He started his YouTube channel in 2012 at the age of 13.
