“I miss her every day, and this makes me cry. But I cry with a smile on my face. Times are tough right now because my dad’s now in the ICU due to complications with his own cancer. Just remember to tell the people you love how much they mean to you. And remind them every day that you love them,” he said.

“As a mother, that perfectly encapsulates my feelings about death too. The thought of leaving my husband and kids hurts more than everything else. I’m so glad you had a wonderful mother and all her love. I hope all her dreams for you come true. Your own dreams, too,” added another.

In a similar gesture, an alum of an Indian Institute of Management had posted an old letter from his mother online, and netizens warmly responded to the message filled with maternal affection.

Srikrishna Swaminathan shared the post with the caption “Amma’s letter to me when I was at IIM first year”.

Written in Tamil, the letter carried his mother’s distinct wisdom and concern. “Call home, study, don’t waste time, think of Bhagawan, and Wednesday is Gayathri Japam. Appa is fine. Love, Amma,” Swaminathan quoted his mother as saying in her letter.
