A massive pileup involving over 100 vehicles was reported on a highway bridge in Zhengzhou, China, caused by dense fog that severely limited visibility.
Videos circulating online capture the chaos — cars speeding ahead despite the near-zero visibility, while frantic bystanders wave and shout, trying desperately to warn others. Unfortunately, many drivers couldn’t react in time, especially with the road reportedly being slippery.
A video shared by AccuWeather shows car after car slamming into an already massive wreck. Despite the desperate warnings from pedestrians — likely passengers or drivers of the crashed vehicles — the collisions just keep happening.
“This multi-vehicle accident happened when visibility dropped during misty and foggy weather on a bridge along a highway in Zhengzhou, China,” Weather Channel meteorologist Jennifer Gray explained. She noted that while injuries were reported, there was no confirmed information about fatalities.

The crash video has blown up on Instagram, racking up over 13 million views. In the comments, social media users have been sharing their reactions, with many calling out the reckless driving.
One user wrote, “I get it there’s Fog but why you driving that fast? If there’s that much fog to where I can see I literally go 20 miles per hour until it’s clear again.”
Another user added, “Why are they driving that fast if there is a fog.”
A third user commented, “Instead of standing there waving their arms about, why didn’t they run further down the carriageway to give the drivers time to actually stop! Bizarre.”
Massive crashes like this don’t happen often, but they’re not unheard of either. A strikingly similar accident took place in the same Chinese province less than three years ago, when more than 200 cars smashed into each other due to heavy fog.
