Israeli actor and screenwriter Lior Raz, who plays Doron Kabilio in the political television series Fauda, joined the ‘Brothers in Arms’, a protest group of volunteers consisting of retired soldiers, to assist the population in the south of Israel amid the surprise attack by the Hamas militant group.

Raz took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a video of himself along with Yohanan Plesner, president of the Israel Democracy Institute, and journalist Avi Issacharoff, who also co-created the series Fauda, taking cover behind walls as rockets flew overhead. They were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot, in the Southern District of Israel, to extract two families.

“Accompanied by Yohanan Plesner @yplesner and Avi @issacharoff, I headed down south to join hundreds of brave “brothers in arms” volunteers who worked tirelessly to assist the population in the south of Israel. We were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot to extract 2 families,” Raz wrote on X.

“Praying for you Doron,” a user commented. “Sending our love, prayers and solidarity,” said another. “For me, you are the first reel hero who is a real hero,” wrote a third. “It’s not often that art intersects with life in such a visceral way. Thank you for your bravery. Be safe,” said yet another.
