Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has recently shared a post of him playing a video game Path of Exile 2 or Diablo IV on X, triggering discussions on social media about his gaming skills.

Musk has long claimed to be an elite gamer, even telling American podcaster Joe Rogan in a November interview that he ranks among the top 20 players in Diablo IV. However, not everyone is convinced about the claims. A few in the gaming community have accused him of “boosting”—a practice where players pay others to improve their in-game ranking.

One X user didn’t hold back, writing, “Immediately after this video, the 18-year-old intern was right back in playing with your account. Nobody believes that you are the global top 3 player in between running the federal government and managing world companies. Do better; this is simply not possible.”

Musk, never one to shy away from a response, fired back: “You’re right. I should be #1. I got overconfident with Kekius_Maximus and he died.”

Apart from his gaming skills, netizens also took notice of the billionaire’s impressive setup, particularly the massive Samsung Odyssey Ark monitor he was playing on. When someone asked what screen Musk was using, another fan replied, “Samsung Odyssey Ark. I love mine.”

What is Diablo 4?

Diablo IV features six character classes—Barbarian, Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, Spiritborn, and Necromancer—each with unique abilities. Unlike its predecessors, Diablo IV offers an open-world experience, allowing players to explore at their own pace while battling eerie creatures in dark landscapes.

According to the latest leaderboard, Musk currently sits at 15th place in Diablo IV, making him one of just five American players in the top 20, with most of the top-ranked players hailing from China.
