A British traveller and content creator has won hearts online after posting a video in which he pushed back against the negativity India often receives on social media.

The clip, shared by vlogger Alex Wanders on Instagram, was filmed at Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat. Standing inside the terminal, Alex praised the modern facilities and infrastructure.

“Honestly, everyone talks so much bad about India, but I just landed in Ahmedabad for my fourth visit. And the airport here is absolutely beautiful. Look at this place. Honestly, India does not deserve the hate it gets online. I am hyped for this trip,” he said in the short video. The caption read: “India doesn’t deserve the hate it gets online.”

His remarks struck a chord with many viewers, who flooded the comments with their own stories about India’s warmth and hospitality. Several Instagram users commented that Western media often paints a one-dimensional picture of the country, and that videos like Alex’s help set the record straight.

Of course, not everyone agreed. One user joked, “I think it’s OUTSIDE of the airport that is the concern for most people!” Another added, “Agreed! India is an amazing country with amazing food and people. There is a lot of dislike in the world, India should not be one of them.” Others debated whether much of the criticism comes from misleading online content, with one commenter even suggesting, “India get hate because of TikTok… in which 80% of videos are from Bangladesh and Pak.”

This isn’t the first time Alex has gone viral for highlighting India’s infrastructure. A few months ago, he shared his experience at Delhi’s Rajiv Chowk metro station. In that video, he walked into the bustling hub, looked around in amazement, and simply mouthed, “wow”—before showing the ticket kiosks, escalators, signboards, and trains in motion.
