Would you take an auto-rickshaw ride in California?

The black and yellow auto-rickshaw is ubiquitous in India. A video, now viral, shows the vehicle in the streets of California.

In India, auto-rickshaws are arguably the cheapest mode of public transport. Americans are not used to these vehicles plying on roads.

A video shared by Instagram user @manoharsrawat on April 29, shows a black and yellow auto-rickshaw, similar to the ones we see in India, being driven around a street in California‘s Artesia.

As the video zooms in, the auto-rickshaw drives along the length of the road against a picturesque backdrop.

The video is now viral on the platform with over 21k likes and nearly eight lakh plays.

Responding to the video, one user said, “Much needed public transport in US !!” Another user commented, “I was in Artesia yesterday, and they were parked outside the Pioneer Cash & Carry store for people to take pictures!!!” A third user said, “HOW DID I MISS THIS.”
