Fitness influencer Giorgi Tzane Janelidze passed away after falling into a ravine in Italy while filming a video for social media. The incident took place on Wednesday, when the 23-year-old visited an ancient mountain village, Roghudi Vecchio, in Calabria, People.com reported.

Janelidze fell from a balcony with no railings. Though firefighters reached the spot immediately, they failed to save the influencer. Later, helicopters were summoned to retrieve the body from the deep ravine.

The news of the influencer’s demise was confirmed by his friend Chris Kogias. “Tzane is no longer with us. He left us yesterday afternoon during the trip we made to Italy. Please pray with us for his soul to rest in peace,” Kogias told the Ethnos news website.

Janelidze enjoyed a fan following of more than 100K on Instagram. His fans are pouring condolences on his last post on the platform. Commenting on the post, one of his fans wrote in Greek, “May God welcome you with open arms.” Another fan wrote, “GOD hold him in a good place.”

“Our unbelievable, strength to friends and family,” a third user commented.
