List of Top 10 Richest People in India January 2025: India is making a significant impact globally, with the country’s entrepreneurs contributing to its economic growth, leading it to emerge as the third-largest economy by 2030.

It has significantly raised the country’s profile on the international stage, which is evident in its increasing number of billionaires. It reached a historic milestone with 271 billionaires, including 84 newcomers, placing it third among countries with the highest number of billionaires globally.

According to last year’s report by Henley & Partners, Mumbai and Delhi ranked among the top 50 richest cities in the world in 2024, coming in at 24th and 37th place, respectively. This highlights the growing presence of wealthy individuals in India.

Additionally, Mumbai has overtaken Beijing as the “billionaire capital of Asia,” making it the fastest-growing billionaire hub and the third-richest city in the world, as reported by Hurun.

In 2024, the collective wealth of India’s 100 billionaires climbed by more than $300 billion to $1.1 trillion, owing to last year’s stock market boom.

As we enter the new year, Forbes ranked the richest Indians, as of January 2025, showcasing the immense wealth accumulated by these individuals, and highlighting their significant contributions to various industries.

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, is the richest Indian, ranking 18th worldwide.

According to the latest financial reports, Reliance Industries, a multinational conglomerate, which operates across a diverse range of sectors, including petrochemicals, oil and gas, retail, telecom, and more, has been ranked as the largest and most profitable company in India, in terms of revenue in 2024.

In a notable mention, the only Indian woman billionaire, Savitri Jindal & family rank as the wealthiest woman in India, with a net worth of $38.5  billion, with the family’s wealth being primarily derived from the O.P. Jindal Group, a major player in the steel and power sectors.

Furthermore, the “retail king” of India, the founder of DMart, Radhakishan Damani, with a net worth of $31.5 billion, has also emerged as one of the richest Indians in 2025. (File)

DMart, grew by 44% to register a valuation of INR 3.4 lakh crore, which made Damani retain the number 1 spot in Hurun India’s top self-made entrepreneurs of the millennia, 2024.
