Talk show host Jon Stewart had “no jokes” to tell on his Daily Show Thursday night, choosing instead to open by addressing the Charleston church shootings. “I have one job, and it’s a pretty simple job,” Stewart said. “But I didn’t do my job today, so I apologise. I got nothing for you, in terms of jokes and sounds, because of what happened in South Carolina.”
Apart from talking about terrorism and gun violence, Stewart also criticised Confederate imagery in the state, noting that “in South Carolina, the roads that black people drive on are named for Confederate generals who fought to keep black people from being able to drive freely on that road. That’s insanity. That’s racial wallpaper. That’s — you can’t allow that”. His speech has been watched more than half a million times since it was uploaded two days ago.

Schwarzenegger Statue
To promote his charity, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been dressing up as his famous character in ‘The Terminator’ and spooking visitors at Madame Tussauds wax museum in Los Angeles. In a video uploaded Thursday, fans are seen posing with what they think is waxwork of Schwarzenegger, before he terrifies them by suddenly reciting one of his catchphrases, or by moving. After getting over their initial shock, most fans were happy to meet the real-life star. The former governor later hit the streets dressed as his character, approaching random people and muttering lines from the Terminator franchise. The video has been watched 7 million times on YouTube.
