Dosa seller’s ‘poor pay’ jibe at corporate employees sparks meme fest on Internet

In the video, the dosa-seller, while happily preparing three dosas, asks the person behind the camera to confirm whether the butter he is using belongs to Amul. His innocent question, however, is followed by a series of comments that millennials and Gen Zs find painfully true.

He asks, “This is Amul right, sir? I’m asking because I’m not much educated.” As the customer confirms it to be Amul butter, the dosa seller says, “Because I am less educated, I am earning more. Or else, I would have also had a job that pays Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000.”

The shared video accompanies two captions, “Bro didn’t even hesitate” and “Itna bhi sach nahi bolna tha uncle” (Didn’t need to be so truthful, uncle) which added to the comic element of the clip.

The 10-second video sent a wave through X as netizens flooded the comments section with memes, jokes, and other sarcastic, yet painfully true, remarks. While some users shared related memes, others pointed out the luxury of not paying tax or rent for food-stall owners.
