Apple is slowly but steadily introducing fast charging capabilities on iPhones. However, iPhones still do not charge as quickly as most Android phones, which offer up to a whopping 150W and can fully charge the battery in just a matter of minutes.

Most Android phones ship with a fast charging adapter within the box, while iPhones just come with a USB cable, which makes it even more confusing for the user to find the right power adapter that offers the best charging experience.

Are you looking for a fast charger for your iPhone? If yes, check out our comprehensive list of fast chargers best-suited for iPhones. The list includes both first-party and third-party alternatives.

iPhones that support fast charging

All iPhones since the iPhone 12 series support at least 20W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging via MagSafe. While Apple refrains from disclosing the exact peak power input capabilities, third-party tests reveal that the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro (review) and the iPhone 15 Pro series can take up to 27W of power when paired with a compatible power adapter.

In Apple’s definition, when a fast-charging iPhone is paired with a 20W USB-PD compatible adapter, it will charge the first 50 per cent of the battery in 30 minutes. To achieve this, one has to use an official USB cable that ships with an iPhone, along with a compatible fast charging adapter, which is rated for at least 20W.

Best fast charging adapter for iPhones

Apple’s official 20W USB-C power adapter usually sells for Rs 1,699, which is clearly the best fast-charging brick that one can consider for an iPhone. This being a first-party charger ensures that both your iPhone and the charging cable stay safe and secure even with continued usage. This is also the charger that Apple recommends on its official website.

Affordable fast charging adapter for iPhones

One can easily buy a third-party 20W USB-PD (power delivery) certified fast charging adapter for iPhones for around Rs 500 on all the major e-commerce platforms and electronics stores. Oraimo 20W Type C Fast Charger, Amazon Basics 20W Dual Port Wall Charger Adapter, Portronics Adapto 45 20W Mach, and Ambrane 20W Type C Charger/Adapter are some of the best budget options.

While products from Oraimo and Ambrane just offer a single USB-C port with support for 20W output, the Portronics Adapto and the Amazon Basics models have a USB-C and a USB-A port, making them versatile charging adapters. Do note that these adapters offer up to 20W power output on a single port and not on both.

Fast charging adapters from Apple

Besides iPhone, if you have a Mac or an iPad and don’t want to carry two adapters, then we recommend the 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter, which can not only charge select latest iPhones with up to 27W rating but can also be used to charge iPads and Macbooks. Priced at around Rs 5,800, it is slightly on the expensive side.

Meanwhile, you can use any fast charging adapter that ships with a MacBook or an iPad, which is rated for 29W, 30W, 35W, 61W, 67W, 87W, 96W, or 140W.

Versatile third-party fast charging adapter for iPhones

While there are plenty of third-party USB-PD chargers in the market, the CMF by Nothing 65W GaN fast charger, which retails for Rs 2,999, is the one we recommend. It has two USB-C ports and a USB-A port. As it is based on the latest GaN technology, it is much more compact than most 65W fast chargers in the market. In fact, it is much smaller than Apple’s 70W fast charger, which is also a lot more expensive.
