YouTube offers one month free Premium membership. (Image Source: YouTube Blog) YouTube recently rolled out a bunch of new features to Premium members. In a recent blog post, the company announced that in addition to offering an ad-free experience and the ability to play videos in the background, users will now be able to queue videos, watch videos together with friends, sync video playback across devices and stream videos in enhanced 1080p. Here’s a quick look at the new YouTube features for Premium members.
While the ability to queue videos has been available on the desktop version of YouTube, the feature was unavailable on the mobile app until now. With the recent update, YouTube Premium users will now be able to add videos to queue on both phones and tablets.
If you are someone who wants to watch videos on YouTube with friends, family or colleagues, YouTube’s latest Meet Live Sharing feature might come in handy. Available on Android devices, Premium users can now host Google Meet sessions where all attendees can watch YouTube videos together. In the coming weeks, YouTube says it will bring the same experience to FaceTime users on iOS via SharePlay.
It looks like YouTube has upped its ante with the new continue watching videos feature. Similar to other streaming platforms where the playback resumes from where you left off, YouTube Premium users will now be able to resume watching videos from the same point they paused it even if they switch between multiple devices.
Smart Downloads is a new feature that automatically adds recommended videos to your library and downloads it for offline viewing. Available only for premium members, it only works when the user is connected to a Wi-Fi network, meaning you won’t have to worry about YouTube consuming mobile data.
Available on iOS devices and web version of YouTube in the coming days, Premium members will be able to watch videos in an enhanced bitrate version of 1080p. If you are someone who watches videos with lots of detail and motion like sports or gaming, YouTube says the new feature will offer a deeper visual quality.
