WhatsApp users can finally filter chats on the home page. Currently available for select beta testers on Android (via Google Play Store), WhatsApp version 2.23.14.17 greets users with a new and simplified home UI, which will display different filters, enabling users to quickly jump into a specific conversation, without scrolling through 100s of chats.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature is currently limited to select users who have enrolled in the Google beta test program. The latest beta version of WhatsApp categorizes chats into three major filters: all, unread, and group. As the name suggests, if you select the all filter, WhatsApp will show all the chats, and if you choose the unread filter, it will only display unread chats. Lastly, if you tap on the group filter, it will show all the group chats. To access this new feature, users have to scroll down to the bottom of the chat page.
In a recent update, WhatsApp is also testing a new security feature, where it displays the “end-to-end encrypted” banner with a padlock icon just below the user name, offering users quick information about the added security on WhatsApp. Additionally, WhatsApp recently released an update on iOS, which fixed the copy-paste issue on the platform.
