The Browser Company is working on an AI-powered browser called Dia that can do things on your behalf, and it sounds all too familiar.

The Browser Company, the company that introduced us to the Arc browser said a few weeks ago that it was working on a new AI centric browser called Dia. In a recent video, the developers said that they were going back to the drawing board to create a new browser that will be packed to the brim with several AI features to help users with everyday tasks.

Set to launch sometime in 2025, the company said Dia will be a “smart web browser” and that the “future of AI is not a button. Or an app. It will be an entirely new computing environment, built at the browser layer.”

Josh Miller, the CEO of The Browser Company showcased some prototype feature that may or may not make it to the final version. In the video, he demoed a tool that will help users write the next sentence or even get information from the internet when writing about things like the original iPhone launch. As it turns out, the feature will also be able to read your open Amazon links and insert them in an email with a barebone description.

In another demo, we can see that Dia will also allow users to type commands in the address bar to do things like show a document based on the description, email someone on your behalf and even schedule a meeting and add to the calendar using natural language.

The third demo is where things get interesting. The video shows Dia doing things like browsing Amazon on its own and adding items to the cart with another example showing how the AI powered browser can analyse a table full of details of members who are shooting a video and emailing each of them separately.

However, this does not mean that the Arc browser is going away. The Browser Company CEO clarified that while they are owrking on Dia, Arc will continue getting support and updates.

Since Dia is still in early stages of development, it still has a long way to go, so things may or may not change in the coming months.
