Swiggy on Thursday, September 26, announced a new feature: the Food on Train service. Users can select from a variety of City Best meals that have been carefully chosen dishes from famous restaurants at various stations.

Swiggy also introduced Easy Eats, designed to guarantee a hassle-free train-dining experience. The Easy Eats menu has been curated to provide convenient, on-the-go meals.

During the festive season, train travellers can choose from more than 5,000 dishes and have them delivered to their seats across over 115 stations. The platform combines curated choices, trusted quality, and seamless technology to help customers place orders faster and make food discovery easier.

Swiggy says users can order up to 25 per cent faster thanks to an upgraded Food on Train page, which even works on patchy internet connections. The service delivers hot meals from trusted local restaurant partners directly to train seats at over 115 stations.

Talking about the new features, Deepak Maloo, vice-president of food strategy, customer experience and new initiatives at Swiggy, said, “We’ve listened to what our customers want, and we’re excited to roll out a suite of smarter, more personalised meal choices designed to make every journey delicious, convenient, and truly special. City Best takes the guesswork out of ordering, so travellers can effortlessly find trusted, high-quality options from restaurant partners celebrated for their food, hygiene, and generous portions.”

“Similar to Easy Eats, we’re solving the problem of messy, inconvenient meals on the go, while our Pure Veg section gives vegetarian travellers peace of mind. All in all, we want to show that the journey is just as important as the destination,” he added.

For those fasting during Navratri or preferring vegetarian meals, Swiggy has launched a dedicated Pure Veg section to make finding 100 per cent vegetarian options easy. In addition, the brand-new Offer Zone gives passengers access to more than 30 top deals – up to 60 per cent off at popular eateries – making it easy to save on delicious meals throughout the holiday season.
