Vodafone Idea, or Vi, recently announced two new budget-friendly prepaid plans. Priced below Rs 150, these plans are currently available in select circles and are geared towards customers who rarely make calls and use the internet and want to keep their SIM active without spending much.
The cheaper of the two new plans costs Rs 128 and has a validity of 18 days. It comes with 100MB data, which should be enough if you are mostly connected to Wi-Fi and offers 10 local on-net night minutes which can be used between 11 PM and 6 AM. However, all local and national calls will cost you 2.5 paise per second and you cannot send SMS.
Next up is the Rs 138 plan, which has a slightly longer validity of 20 days. Similar to the aforementioned plan, you get 10 local on-net night minutes between 11 PM and 6 AM and 100MB of mobile data. Also, all local and national calls will cost you 2.5 paise per second and you cannot send any SMS.
For those wondering, the new Rs 128 and Rs 138 plans are currently not available in all regions and are limited to circles like Maharashtra and Goa, Karnataka, Chennai, Kerala and Kolkata to name a few.
Recently, Vi launched a bunch of new “Super Hero” prepaid plans for users who use a lot of internet, offering unlimited mobile data from 12 AM to 12 PM. The network operator also officially confirmed that it is rolling out 5G services in select circles, but did not share any details on where it is available.
