Motorola Edge 40, the ‘slimmest’ 5G phone with Mediatek Dimensity 8020, launched at Rs 29,999

Motorola Edge 40 offers IP68 rating, supports eSIM, and the device also has wireless charging capabilities.

Motorola has officially launched its latest mid-range phone, the Edge 40, which is a successor to the Moto Edge 30 launched back in 2022.

The Motorola Edge 40 comes with a 6.55-inch curved FHD+ OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate with an in-display fingerprint sensor and it is also Dolby Vision certified. The phone features a metal frame and a plastic back panel and is also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. According to the company, the Edge 40 is also the thinnest 5G smartphone in the country.

The device is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back with a 50 MP primary camera and a 13 MP ultra-wide angle lens that also doubles as a macro camera. Similarly, the device also has a 32 MP selfie camera at the front with support for face unlock. There is a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos, however, the phone misses out on a 3.5mm audio jack.

The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC with 8GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, and also the first phone with this chip in India. The phone has a single nano SIM card slot and it also supports eSIM. The smartphone ships with Android 13 OS and the company has promised to deliver two major Android OS upgrades.

The Motorola Edge 40 is fueled by a 4,400 mAh battery with support for 68W fast wired charging and the 68W fast charging adapter and a USB Type-C to Type-C cable are included in the box. Similarly, the smartphone also supports up to 15 wireless charging.

The Motorola Edge 40 comes in Reseda Green and Eclipse Black in a vegan leather finish and Lunar Blue in PMMA (acrylic glass) finish with at Rs 29,999. The phone will be available for pre-order starting today via Motorola.in, Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and other leading outlets and will be available for purchase starting May 30.

Users who opt for the exchange offer will get an additional Rs 2,000 discount and those who pre-order the phone on Flipkart before May 30 will get a complementary one-time free screen replacement plan worth Rs 9,500.
