On Wednesday, Lenovo introduced new laptops, also known as hybrid AI PCs, at its flagship Tech World '24 event. This includes the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition, which offers both a laptop and tablet experience along with a lot of AI capabilities. Daryl Cromer, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Intelligence Devices Group, Lenovo, at a media pre-briefing, said, "Our goals are simple: we want to make AI technology accessible to everyone to enhance their daily lives." Powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra 200V processor with a dedicated NPU that offers up to 48 TOPs of AI performance, this will soon gain all the Copilot+ AI features by Microsoft, along with additional features like smart mode, smart share, and smart care. Besides this, the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition can offer up to 18 hours of battery life, and the company also introduced two additional models - the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition and the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, both powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors. These laptops also come with a smart energy management feature called the efficiency optimizer, which automatically adjusts power based on usage to deliver greater efficiency. Users can also further tweak the profile to control both performance and battery life as per their needs, and this feature will also be rolled out to some of the existing Lenovo laptops. Smart Connect is another feature that enables users to bring together all their devices like a seamless ecosystem, which also enables users to leverage the capabilities of an AI PC on a non-AI smartphone or tablet. Meet Lenovo's AI Now At the event, the company also introduced "AI Now," an AI-powered chatbot, also known as a personal AI agent, powered by a large language model that runs locally on the PC along with additional data security. It can generate content and manage documents without relying on cloud services. Lenovo said that its AI Now is unique from the rest of the AI chatbots, as it focuses on data security as all the processing happens on the device. Similarly, Lenovo is also expanding the Moto AI experience, which will include capabilities like assist, create, and capture. This includes a new feature called Memory Finder, a feature similar to Copilot Recall, where it takes screenshots, which can then be used to help users find something important on the phone, and all this processing happens locally on the device. These features are currently under beta testing and will soon be rolled out to select devices like the Razr 50 Ultra (review) soon.
