(Image: Beats)Beats on September 30 unveiled Powerbeats Fit, a new addition to the Powerbeats family. According to Beats, the Powerbeats Fit offers better in-ear comfort and durability, along with a redesigned wingtip that is just as stable as the earhook of the Powerbeats Pro 2. The TWS buds are available to order in four colours and are priced at Rs 24900 on the official Apple website.
The Powerbeats Fit feature universal secure-fit wingtips to avoid falling out and provide stability of the buds during any activity. Beat claimed that these wingtips have been engineered through years of research and development.
The buds will now be housed in a more compact charging case with an IPX4 rating that makes it sweat and water resistant. With the charging case, Powerbeats Fit’s battery lasts up to 30 hours, and each bud can play music for up to seven hours at a time. With Fast Fuel, you can get up to an hour of playback from a rapid 5-minute charge.
In addition to being 17 per cent smaller than the Beats Fit Pro, the buds are also water and sweat resistant with an IPX4 rating, and can withstand rain, snow, heat and intense workout sessions. The device is also offered with four earbud tips for the users to choose from according to their comfort.
The buds, as per Beats, are well-balanced and deliver powerful beats across the audio spectrum built around a custom acoustic audio system. Powerbeats Fit also features spatial audio and head tracking for an immersive experience during movies, music and games.
The buds also feature an adaptive EQ that tailors sound according to each bud’s fit. This is then measured by the microphones to see what the user hears, allowing these buds to automatically adjust audio output.
And for those moments which require tuning out the outside world, the buds feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). It also has a Transparency mode that lets you be aware of your surroundings.
Beats claims to have industry-leading Bluetooth connectivity. Users can enjoy normal calls and FaceTime with Spatial Audio featuring Dolby Atmos, and activate Siri.
The device is powered by the Apple H1 chip. Powerbeats Fit offers audio sharing, hands-free ‘Hey Siri’, ‘Find My’, and more. For Android users, the Beats app allows one-touch pairing, customisable controls, battery status, Locate My Beats, and a Fit Test to help determine the ideal ear tip size.
The company claims that users may effortlessly control music, volume, listening modes, call handling, and voice assistant activation via on-device controls. Power Beats, an inbuilt processor that cuts down on outside noise like wind, is paired with two beam-forming microphones that precisely record the user’s voice.
Powerbeats Fit also focuses on sustainability. The packaging is made from 100 per cent plant-based material sourced from recycled fibre and/or sustainable forests.
