Asus clears the air regarding the shutdown of its Zenfone lineup of smartphones. According to the official statement, Zenfone 10 is not the last product of the series and the brand will continue with its current two phones a year strategy, one from the ROG and another from the Zenfone series.

TechNews, a Taiwanese publication reported that Asus might shut down the Zenfone series, owning to the massive layoff in the company and the removal of the bootloader unlock tool for Zenfone 9 and Zenfone 10 from its platform, which created distress among the compact Android phone enthusiasts. However, the company has now reassured enthusiasts by issuing a press statement regarding its commitment towards the future Zenfone product lineup.

Coming to India, the Zenfone 8 was the last device from the series that was launched in the country. However, earlier generation products like Zenfone Max Pro M1 and M2 were highly popular due to their affordable price. Asus continues to launch its latest ROG gaming smartphones in the country.

The Asus Zenfone 10 is the current compact flagship from the company, which is also one of the smallest smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Despite its compact design, the phone packs everything and more that one expects from a flagship, which includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, wireless charging, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

While Asus failed to make a dent in the smartphone market, its devices have been serving the niche market, which demands unique smartphones. Although there is an outcry for compact smartphones, the sales figures suggest the other way around.

Nonetheless, Asus will continue to make smartphones under the Zenfone moniker in the foreseeable future, indicating there will be a Zenfone 11, possibly launching in 2024.
