Developed by The Browser Company, the Arc Search app aims to redefine your internet browsing experience by generating a new web page from scratch that offers customised search results.

Currently in “Early Access,” the Arc Search app’s “Browse for me” feature lets you type a search query in the box, which makes it search information on your behalf. The Browser Company says it uses AI to read multiple web pages and generate a new page with different sections.

While it is fairly accurate, it can sometimes be wrong and take some time to open the page, especially if you are in an area with poor connectivity. Also, similar to the iPhone version of the app, tapping on the search bar will automatically open your keyboard, but you can also choose to turn it off.

Compared to other browsers like Chrome and Edge, switching between open tabs on Arc Search is easier since it uses an Android-like recent app menu. The app has an “Archive” feature that automatically archives inactive tabs after a set time period and a pin button, which lets you pin certain websites (excluding AI-generated webpages) for quick access.

On iPhone, the company had announced that it is ditching iCloud in favour of its own cross platform syncing service, but currently there is no way to sync your pinned tabs and password on Android. Some other features like pinch to summaise and Call to ask are missing as well.
