Apple introduced its newest iPhones – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max – at the “It’s Glowtime” event that was held earlier this month. The iPhone 16 series was opened up for pre-ordering on September 13 and are expected to be shipped starting today.

In terms of India prices, the base model of the iPhone 16 starts at Rs 79,900 while iPhone 16 Plus is available at Rs 89,900 onwards. Meanwhile, the high-end iPhone 16 models (Pro and Pro Max) come with a starting price tag of Rs 1,19,900 and Rs 1,44,900.
But, the iPhone 16 series does not reportedly come with pre-installed features of Apple Intelligence – the company’s much-touted personalised AI system that was first unveiled at its annual developer conference (WWDC 2024) in June this year. This means that owners of the new iPhone 16 will have to download Apple Intelligence features via software updates as they gradually become available over the coming weeks and months.
However, the new iPhone 16 does sport a few modest hardware upgrades such as a Camera Control button designed to make it easier to capture photos and videos. The Action Button, which can be configured to carry out a wide range shortcuts such as flicking on the torch or opening an app, has been extended to the regular iPhone 16 model as well. Earlier, it was only available for iPhone 15 Pro models.
